"For 'whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved'"
Romans 10:13

It seems like every day all we ever hear is bad news. Do you ever find yourself wishing you could hear some good news for a change? Amazingly, Jesus came all the way from heaven in order to share with you some very wonderful news. He loves you and desires to have a relationship with you.

There is one problem though: our sin separates us from God and keeps us from having a relationship with Him. Let's look at what the Bible says:

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23

Every person who has ever lived has sinned and failed to live up to God's standard of righteousness. He is perfect and holy...we are not!

"The wages of sin is death..." - Romans 6:23

Sadly, our sin has separated us from God. The result is that our sin brings about death and separation from Him. If nothing is done about our sinful condition, we will spend eternity separated from God.

"But God demonstrated His love towards us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died
for us". - Romans 5:12

Thankfully the Lord didn't leave us in that horrible situation! He sent His only Son, Jesus, to come and dwell among us and then lay down His life for us on the cross. He provided the way for us to be forgiven! This is the good news of the Gospel. Jesus Christ came to this earth, He died on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, was buried and rose again the third day. He conquered both sin and death so that we could be forgiven, enter into an amazing daily relationship with God, and enjoy eternal life... WOW!

"...if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation." - Romans 10:9-10

Here is how we can receive the forgiveness that Jesus provides. We need to acknowledge that we are a sinner. Then we need to believe in our hearts that Jesus died and rose again. We also need to confess our belief with our mouth by praying and asking Jesus to come into our hearts and lives.

Below is a simple prayer you can pray to receive Jesus into your life. The important thing is that you believe in your heart what you are praying.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and am separated from You. I believe You died for my sins on the cross so I can be forgiven, and rose again on the third day so I can have eternal life. Please forgive me for my sins and come into my hear right now. Thank you for saving me. In Jesus name, amen.
